HEBREWS 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

What is the Purpose of this blog?

I know what you’re thinking: “Another blog? Just what we needed here on the internet.” Ok, I agree. But hear me out:

The arena of political, religious, and ideological conversations has shifted from the market square to an online forum. No longer do we stand before the Sanhedrin to give an answer like Paul in Acts 23, and no longer do we speak boldly in the synagogue like Apollos in Acts 19. Conversations, debates, arguments, verbal defenses, and statements are now, with very few exceptions, made from virtual platforms. As the ages roll it seems to become more and more noticeable how virtual everything is becoming.

That leads me to say this: the Internet is filled with all kinds of debauchery, sin, and harmful content that could ruin your life with the click of a few buttons. My desire with this blog is just simply to provide another avenue for righteousness to be preached and for the Gospel to be proclaimed.

Specifically, I would like soon to publish posts in 3 different specific categories.

1. Bible-heavy defenses for doctrine.

2. Personal, but Biblical, opinions on current issues.

3. Devotional thoughts that are meant to encourage and edify.

At the end of the day, my desire is that the reader (you) would draw closer to your relationship with God. If I, in any way, can assist in helping you to diligently seek the Lord the purpose of this blog will have been met.

I guess in a sort of way I have been slightly inspired by the overzealous Elihu in Job 32. Elihu’s wrath was kindled because Job’s friends found no answer (Job 32:3). Elihu had waited till everyone else had given their opinion before he decided to insert his (Job 32:3). Elihu had a desire to voice his opinion (Job 32:10). Elihu was unsatisfied with the answers that were being given to Job (Job 32:12).

As I watch interactions happen on the internet I see many people (Like Job’s friends) try to answer questions that they do not have answers for. Now don’t get me wrong: I don’t believe I have all the answers, but (not to be cliche) I do know the One who does. I believe very strongly that many, if not all of life’s questions can be answered by the Word of God; it is just a matter of whether are we searching for them?

I assume that in the process of time, I will publish wrong opinions and errors in my interpretation of Scripture. Critique and constructive criticism are always welcome and while I try to maintain a teachable spirit, I am still a pride-filled individual on my most humble days.

Thank you for reading this far. Any feedback is always welcome and encouraged.

  1. Excellent, Excellent. Suggestion: if you believe very strongly, in your seventh paragraph you might strike the words “many, if not”, but hey, that’s just me.

See you here next Tuesday. Love Grandpa.

PS I can’t wait to see your blog about my booklet “Why Baptists Only Use a King James Bible”. May God Bless.
